Craigslist - Additional Charges Review

I also found a car on Craig'slist n got the same eBay email saying the same thing after money was sent to who I thought was eBay I havebt heard from them since they last asked for additional money for insurance which seller said in emails was covered so I call eBay they don't have that on my account and I was scammed I can't reach no-one at moneypak I have.nothing none don't know if I make a police report not to sure wat to do it was money I need and *** took it from me!!!!!!!! I want something done I want it traced I want to know who the *** this *** is and I want my mother *** money or the car I paid for in writing!!!!!!!

I agree Craigslist is getting impossible and they totally ignore any problems as far as posting constantly being flagged. I hope they are not getting paid to ignore the public whenever the flagging is being abused it would not surprise me.

FAKE ROSETTA STONE and others on craigslist (512)568-****

There's a guy in south Austin, TX calling himself Anthony or Antonio selling fake Rosetta stone. Phone # 512-568-**** He's a short Mexican male prob in his late 20s or 30s. I bought a Rosetta Stone from him for my son's birthday a few months ago and it turned out to be counterfeit. I called and texted him to get my money back, but no response, of course. I met him off of Ben White & hwy 71 at this seedy Chevron gas station. That should be been my first clue. The Rosetta Stone looked totally legit and was still sealed, but when I called the company with some problems- since I didn't have a "key" in order to complete a certain section, they told me what to look for and sure enough it was a FAKE! I looked up his phone # and he has over 200 listings of all kinds of fake items in the last 30 days on Craigslist in Austin. I contacted the Sheriff's Department and a few other letter agencies, but he still posts and apparently has done this to others from what I was told.

Craigslist new format (NOT HAPPY)!

This week new advertising ads uploading when viewing classified is slowing the navigation process way down. The BIG issue is when you have gone thru ads and selected an item to view then select the back key to return to the listings (IT WILL NOT)allow you (no response). You have to exit your selection by clicking the tool bar classifieds and start all over from the beginning of the list. You don't have enough hours in the day, repeating this process.I'm so frustrated that I don't want to use craigslist. I have always enjoyed the craigslist easy navigation but NO more.

Very simple solution to your problem. When wishing to view an ad, hold down the shift key when you click on the ad.

It will open in a new window. When done with the ad, simply close that window and you will be right back at the previous window which shows a list of the ads.

Also, you can right click on the chosen ad and select, open in new "window" or new "Tab". When done, simply close the window or tab and you are right back to where you were before opening that window or tab.

Craigslist Computers

This guy sells unlegit, illegal pirated copies of windows on the pc's he builds. He uses old, outdated and off brand hardware. Legal replacements for his software are expensive! Do not do business with him! It costs 140$ for a windows license. and 1000's of dollars for the other pirated software he distributes. His computers may be cheap, but the licenses add up! He is also on ebay! If you have purchased anything from him, turn him into craigslist and ebay along with microsoft! Microsoft will make you pay for a legal legit copy of windows. Then you have to back up everything on it, the games he distributes are pirated too!

Hi I don't mean to cause any trouble but every time I put a add on craigslist it dose not appear and I can't under stand why cuz it tells me it as been posted but when I go there it's not their I went on the net and it said it is some thing called ghosting how can this be stopped with out changing my ip address Thank you I hope this can be fixed I by a lot of stuff off of craigslist and would really like to sell things on Rochester ny craigslist as well Why can I buy but not sell

What you are encountering is "ghosting" of your ad which is supposedly a technique by Craigslist to stop spam but snags innocent users more than it does spam. How this works is you get a message stating that your ad has been accepted and will appear shortly but in reality it will appear only when you enter the URL and cannot be seen by others.

There really isn't much you can do. They will tell you BS stories that your IP address doesn't match the city you are posting from, to much HTML code, you allegedly posted another ad within 48 hours, etc. There really isn't much you can do when your ad is ghosted. They gather your IP address and MAC address to your network adapter and if you create a new account with the same IP address, MAC Address, and phone number any ad associated with this account will also be flagged.

Your best option is to use another site such as backpage.com but they charge $1 for each ad.

There are a lot of free sites out there. These other sites (at least this is true for backpage) don't automatically remove ads without warning like Craigslist and will send you an email explaining that your ad has been removed and the reason and allow you to contest their removal of your ad.

If you want visibility and your ads to go untouched don't use Craigslist. It is a waste of your valuable time.

AND, you cannot get feedback from them re: it. It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. I placed 22 professional ads to staff hospitals in need and they deleted all but 2. :upset They allow weirdos to post stuff and don't mess with those ads but legitimate ads, they delete.

To me, that speaks volumes about Craigslist right there. ,) :roll Have you tried Patrickspost? I can tell you, you won't be hassled on that site. It isn't as big as Craigslist yet, but the potential for major growth is there, especially given the fact that Patrickspost is much more user friendly than Craigslist and your ads won't be deleted.

The ads I place are very important to fill a desperate need for healthcare. Craigslist can see it is legit and the website is even in the ad. They are just jerks or just boneheads who cannot discern a legitimate ad from a spammer. If they read the ads they should have enough brain cells to figure out what is legit and what isn't and not harass legitimate users.

The other thing is, I get so much Spam from Craigslist it is unreal. Should be a way to report them from their spam they send to me. It's ridiculous and they are ridiculous. Backpage isn't any better.

They don't really let free ads stand. They want you to pay, so this is sort of false advertising too. Patrickspost is not like that at all and it is easy to place an ad there. Not only that, if you place an ad to a geographical area, it will also show up in "all" ads for that day, so you are getting visibility everywhere in The United States and the UK and that is awesome.

Support Patrickspost and help it to grow by advertising there and spread the word that this is a better place than Craigslist and Backpage put together. If enough people shift where they are advertising, maybe Craigslist and Backpage will get the message. I guess they'd rather have scammers and weirdos advertising then decent folks. Spread the news to stop using them as a means to advertise.

There are other options that are hassle free. Love Patrickspost!

It is the better place to advertise and it is also free and you get great visibility. Help Patrickspost to grow and help yourself have your ads stand and be seen!

They don't always put my ad in, why is that? every day I put my ads in all the same way and during the day I go back into the sight and it is not there. So I have to do it all over again. can someone tell me why craigslist does that. and who are the people who do this and how can I get in touch with them. Deck & Fence Repair Nightmare

I hired David Smith for a small deck and fence repair job. He did an exceptionally poor job putting together the deck and when I called to ask when he would return to fix and reinforce the boards that were buckling and bending he never responded. He committed to doing the repairs as well as staining the deck etc however after he shabbily put it together he disappeared. When I left a scathing message he did not have the courtesy to return my call and instead sent a lame text to tell me me he was at his mother's funeral. David never came back to fix any of the *** mistakes he made or the 5 other things he said he would do such as stain the deck, fix leak etc. He did such a horrible job I had to hire a someone else who thank god was a professional. The new guy had to rip out everything David did and start over since it was all done so horribly wrong. It was my fault for trusting someone who obviously has no clue as to how to do basic repair (i live in a condo so it was not a huge job so it was not rocket science). If I knew David Smith would do such a *** job I would never have hired him and done it myself -- at least I could blame myself for the severely amateur handy work. David had no problem cashing my hard earned money but obviously no integrity. Will never make the mistake again of hiring anyone off of Craig's list again.

PET DELIVERY SCAM

I found on Craig's list a puppy for sale. I was informed they were using USHIP to delivery puppy. I then was contacted by a out of the country person from Cameroon,Tiki and told I would need to pay $686 for Insurance plus $10 to them for processing or the puppy could not be delivered. Well--------I paid it at Western Union as I was instructed. They called back and said to print out insurance form and sign and send back. Which sounded OK. Then they said puppy would arrive at my doorstep the next day. Next day arrives and they called me and told me I would need to pay for a City Permit to get puppy into my city and pay another fee of $816. When told I could not pay the money they reduced it to $565. I told them I could not pay for that. They said to contact the other party who had the puppy and see if they could pay and they would hold puppy for up to a week for me. Well, thats when I really began to investigate. Now I found that other people have done the same thing and got took! SO DON'T PAY ANYTHING TO THESE PEOPLE especially if they tell you to use Western Union to pay at. My money is gone and NO PUPPY for sure.

Scammed by a person who said they were in houston texas

saturday we were looking for a boxer puppy on craigslist we found one and emailed the person they said yes hes still available we said ok how much he said 170$ and he told us hes in houston texas i said ok how am i getting the puppy then he said by shipping i said ok he said send the money via western union so i did it and sent me a email with the flight schedule i told my wife he will be here in the morning she was excited so was i so the next morning we get a text from the guy saying he needs 600$ for insurance to ship it i said no i cant do that he said what about 200 i said ok *** mistake i shouldve known better and then he emailed yesterday and said the agency needs 170$ for a crate to ship the puppy in i said no more money first of all it shouldve been in a crate to begin with he kept harassing me so i called the sheriffs dept and reported the whole scam he was from cameroon
